Electronics Devices

Electronic devices are the group of the small devices which are designed to control the flow of  electrons to use in different applications. Basically the electronic devices are control by the flow of electrons.

Electronic devices, like your phone or computer, are usually small. They contain tiny packages called integrated circuits, which are like bundles of electronic parts working together. This small size is really important for the boom (big success) of modern electronics.


What is Electronics ?

Basically electronics is the mixture of many field such as physic, engineering, technology which comes together to work to design and implement many devices of electronics for different uses at different fields.


Types of Electronic Devices

  • Active Devices

  • Passive Devices

There are two different types of  electronic devices one is Active and another one is Passive.

Active Devices

Active components are those who are not depend on any other power or energy source, basically they inject the power or energy into the circuit. generally the active components supply the energy to the electric circuit  it include oscillator, integrated circuits and transistors.

Active devices are the devices which can control the flow of electric current. Examples of Active components are Diodes, Integrated circuits.

  1. Transistor : Transistor is a semiconductor device which is used to amplify or to switch the electronic signals. There are various types of transistor “Bipolar Junction transistor” and “Field effect transistor”.

  2. Thyristors : The basic function of the transistor is that it is used to control the power in various applications for example : Dimmer switches,  Motor control.
  3. Amplifiers : In amplifier there are various type of amplifiers which includes audio amplifier, radio amplifier and operational amplifier the main function of the amplifier is that it amplifies the amplitude of the signal.
  4. Diodes(For active configuration only ) : Basically diode is a passive component but they are used in active configuration for example it use as rectifier or it is use as a part of the electronic amplifiers.
  5. Integrated circuits (ICs) : ICs (Integrated Circuits) are like tiny electronic cities on a single chip. They have super small parts like transistors, resistors, and capacitors all working together to do different jobs in electronic devices.
  6. Oscillators : Oscillator is used to generate the periodic waveforms like sine wave or square wave. It includes transistor, resistor, capacitor and performs various function.
  7. Operational Amplifier : These are the specialized amplifiers used in various types of electric circuits for use like amplification, signal conditioning and operation of math.
  8. Voltage regulators: These voltage regulators are used to control the stable output voltage even if the input voltage vary or change. they are use to ensure that the coming voltage source is constant.
  9. Microcontrollers : Microcontrollers are like tiny electronic brains. They’re packed with a processor, memory, and programmable parts for input/output. They do a lot of the thinking and managing in electronic systems.
  10. Field effect Transistor : FETs are like traffic controllers for electricity in electronic gadgets. They use an electric field to decide when the power should flow or stop. We often use them in devices to make signals stronger or to turn things on and off.

Passive Devices

Passive components are the components which utilize the power or energy of the circuit. In simple language the passive components store, absorb or will dissipate the received power in circuit. It includes resistor, capacitor and inductor.

Passive devices can use to store the energy for example capacitor is a device which is used to store energy, but it cannot generates the energy hence it is called as the Passive devices.

  1. Resistor : Resistors are the devices which is used to control the flow of electric current in the electric circuit.
  2. Capacitor : Capacitor is  a devices which is used to store the energy and will release it when needed.
  3. Inductor : Inductor is a device which temporary store the energy in magnetic field whenever the electric current will flow through the coil of inductor.
  4. Transformer : In simple language transformer is magnetic device which can change the behavior of electricity. Transformer can transform the energy from one form to another.
  5. Diodes : Diode is a device which allow the current to flow in one direction and block the other direction.

12. Headphones and Earphones : Things you put on your ears to listen to music or talk on the phone. Some have wires, and some don’t.

13. Gaming PCs : Powerful computers made for playing video games with better graphics and speed.

14. Printers : Machines that make paper copies of digital documents or pictures.

15. DVD/Blu-ray Players : Machines for playing movies from discs. They’re like a digital movie player for your TV.
